OverviewThe following basic requirements apply
to all skilled applicants applying for Migration to Australia:
Age
Under 45 when applying
English
Sufficient proficiency( vocational )
in English
Depending upon the visa category applied for and/or the
skilled occupation nominated, different level of English proficiency
is required
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification or
equivalent (such as university or trade); and for certain specially
designated occupations, substantial relevant work experience
may be accepted as relevant qualification
All nominated occupations
will first be assessed as suitable by Australian skills assessing
authorities
Nominated occupation
You must nominate a skilled occupation as listed on the
Skilled Occupations List (SOL) of the Australian Department
of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (
DIMIA )
Recent work experience
In addition
to nominated skill, you may need to show that
You have relevant
work experience for a period of at least 12 out of the last
18 months where your nominated occupation carries a 60 points
score;
You have relevant work experience for 2 out of the
previous 3 years where your nominated occupation carries a
score of 40-45 points
Less work experience if you apply
under the Skill Matching or Skilled-Designated Area Sponsored
categories
Provided you have completed an Australian qualification
less than 6 months before lodging your visa application* no
work experience is required |
