Overview
Most business skills entrants will enter Australia initially on a provisional (temporary) visa for 4 years.
Successful applicants must, within reasonable period of time of arrival in Australia, actively participate as
owners or co-owners in businesses that help, in relation to Australia:
develop business links with international markets
create or maintain employment in Australia
export Australian goods or services
produce goods or services that would otherwise be imported
introduce new or improved technology
add to commercial activity and competitiveness within sectors of the Australian economy
Therefore, a business visa applicant seeking Australian permanent residence will generally need to go through
a "probation" period (provisional visa) initially, and upon being eligible for a permanent visa, he/she may apply
for residency (permanent visa). An exception is the Business Talent visa. This visa will require a State/Territory (S/T)
government authority sponsorship and is available for candidates considered 'high calibre' business professionals.
Applicant for this category will apply directly for a permanent residence visa.
After satisfactory evidence of a specified level of business or investment activity, holder of provisional visa may
apply for permanent residence. |
